Natural Hazards

The multi-disciplinary module initially provides an overview over natural hazards and their risks. Detailed lectures then introduce processes and impacts of climatological, hydrological and geological hazards. Examples of lectures include storms, heatwaves, floods, droughts, earthquakes, tsunamies, landslides, among others. A field trip elaborates the management of a storm-impacted forest.
Students investigate a particular hazard case study in detail and present this to the group.
